About the Artist

Rachel Osteyee

For as long as I can remember, I have been fascinated by the intricacies of the small natural world, especially knowing how they work or imagining other inventive uses for them. I would collect natural objects or try to make plants that I collected grow.

Admiring the intricate mechanics of small but beautifully designed objects makes me feel contented and peaceful, a feeling that I often try to incorporate into the paintings themselves. My paintings tend to range from stylized to highly realistic, which I often execute in either oil or watercolor media.
